Did you know that Waterloo Region is home to the largest concentration of Mennonites in Canada and this same Waterloo Region is Canada’s Silicon Valley!

Fields Trips has been a tour operator since 2014 and knows what it takes to inject some fresh product into your offerings, here are a few themes

1. Make it a Mennonite, Market, Maple & Museum Kinda Day
Step back in time and experience the simple yet profound lifestyle of the Mennonite community. Travel scenic backroads and explore St. Jacobs Market, where handcrafted goods and farm-fresh produce tell a story of tradition, faith, and resilience. Visit with a maple producer and with 4 Tbsp of Maple Syrup equaling the same antioxidant value as a serving of broccoli, there really is no choice to be made, hands down it has to be Canadian Maple Syrup. Wrap up the day with a stop by the largest community museum in Ontario showcasing their permanent gallery which tells the story of Waterloo Region

2. SNAPSHOTS of Waterloo Region Road Trip – Road Rally Scavenger Hunt (a perfect fit for a bus!)
We’ve created a fun opportunity to explore our own backyard. It is part-scavenger-hunt, part-road-rally, part-history-lesson, and A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! We’ve designed an intriguing, regional road trip with a focus on hyperlocal tourism. Our theme for Waterloo Region is INDUSTRY to INNOVATIO-N and all that is IN BETWEEN. Not your normal city tour, rather using clues and directions, you’re encouraged to take snapshots along the way. In 2021 our Snapshots of Waterloo Region was recognized by Destination Canada as a hyper local event.

3. Oktoberfest is Wunderbar
Each October, Waterloo Region transforms into a Bavarian wonderland, hosting the second-largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany! Experience the lively traditions of this revered festival with authentic Festhallen, toe-tapping polka music, and hearty German cuisine. Stroll through Willkommen Platz, take in the vibrant parade, and soak up the warm Gemütlichkeit that makes this celebration truly wunderbar! Prost!

4. Farm, Feast & Future a Sustainable Tour of Waterloo Region
Waterloo Region is at the forefront of sustainability! From innovative urban farms to eco-friendly breweries and energy-smart architecture, discover how our Region is shaping a greener future. Tour Canada’s first Zero Carbon Building – a certified LEED Platinum and has achieved a net positive carbon output. Experience a meal at a Feast On® certified restaurant recognized for sourcing Ontario grown food & drink. We can even assist with the calculation of carbon emissions associated with this tour and responsibly offset through the purchase of carbon offsets to fund the Niagara Escarpment Forest Carbon Project (NEFCP). The NEFPC is a project of the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy (EBC), which is Ontario's largest and Canada's second-largest land conservation agency.
