DAY 1 Sit back and enjoy the view as we head north with stops being made for comfort and meals prior to settling into “The Soo” for the next 3 nights. Nestled in the uptown district of Sault Ste Marie, our hotel offers convenient access to shopping centers, restaurants, and more. DAY 2 After breakfast, we’ll head out for the Lake Superior Coastal Drive. We’ll take in the breathtaking vistas of rugged cliffs, pristine beaches, and the vast expanse of the world's largest freshwater lake that helped inspire the Group Of Seven. This evening we’ll step back in time to the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site. If the Old Stone House and the Blockhouse could talk, they would tell stories steeped in adventure and intrigue about the rich and turbulent times of the fur trade; the aches and pains of early pioneer life and the development of industry along the St. Marys River. Though the buildings remain silent, a local speaker and traditional meal will bring their stories to life for us. (B, L, D)
DAY 3 This morning we’ll embark on a captivating tour aboard the Miss Marie Lock Boat Tour and explore the scenic wonders of the renowned St. Marys River, including the iconic Canadian and USA International Locks. Following lunch on your own, we’ll make our way over to the Art Gallery of Algoma for a tour of their exhibits and sculpture gallery. The adventure doesn’t stop there! We then take off to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre where the thrilling history of aviation comes to life! Where else can you enjoy a dinner surrounded by historical aircraft? (B,D)
DAY 4 Depart for home, reminiscing of all the New Experiences we’ve had in the Soo.
